Architecture Degree Curriculum
The undergraduate program in architecture is designed to minimize the time required to complete the Architecture Degree Curriculum leading to the professional degree. Many students who complete the Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the University of Maryland continue in our Master of Architecture program or elect to pursue graduate studies at another institution. The latter two years of the curriculum are centered on design studios, with complementary coursework in architectural history, theory, technology and visual media.
The two-year Architecture Degree Curriculum Program features an Architectural Technology curriculum providing a comprehensive foundation of technical abilities, understanding or awareness involving all aspects of the architectural profession. Specifically the architecture degree curriculum is designed with an emphasis on visual communication, building materials, building systems and the development of architectural graphic techniques involved in the production of architectural working drawings.
