GPSC Gujarat Public Service Commission came into existence in 1 may 1960. The chairman of GPSC is Shri I. M. Bhavsar. Member of GPSC is Shri H. B. Varia. Chairman and members of Gujarat Public Service Commission is appointed by Governor of state.

Function of Gujarat Public Service Commission GPSC
The main function of GPSC is to conduct exams for the services of states. The Gujarat Public Service Commission advice the government on :
1) The matters relating to methods of recruitment to various Civil Services of the State;
2) The principles to be followed in making
appointments to civil services of the State and granting promotions, transfers from one service to another and the suitability of candidates for such appointments, promotions and transfers;
3) All the disciplinary matters affecting the Government servants,
4) The claims of reimbursements of legal expenses incurred by Government Servants in defending themselves in legal proceedings initiated against them for the act done or purported to be done by them while executing their duty;
5) The claims for granting injury-pensions to Government Servants; and
6) Any other matters that may be referred to the Commission by His Execellancy the Governor

GPSC Eligibility
The Eligibilty for Gujarat Public Service Commission examination is different for different post or exams. To know the details about the eligibility for GPSC exams, please refer to the exam / test notification.

GPSC Departmental Tests
The Gujarat Public Service Commission invites the application forms for the recruitment to various posts of Class-I and Class-II under the Government through direct selection.
Application forms can be obtained from the office of commission or website. You can find the complete details in the GPSC notification for particular departmental test.

GPSC Notifications
The Gujarat Public Service Commission notifies the exams in news papers as well on its website. For departmental test, GPSC notify in the corresponding department, newspaper and website.

Results for GPSC
One can find the results of all the exams and departmental test at adit. In /gpsc/main_result.html.

Application for for GPSC
The application form for the Gujarat Public Service Commission can be obtained from the office of the commission. The notification will be published in the newspaper. The format of application can be copied from the advertisement. The application form for the GPSC can also be downloaded from official website of Gujarat Public Service Commission.
