National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Admission to 3-Year B.Sc. Administration for 2006-2007

National Council for Hotel Management shall hold All India Joint Entrance Examination on 7th May, 2006 from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. for admission to 1st Year of 3-Year B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration at affiliated Institute of Hotel Management all over the country for the 2006-2007 academic session.

  • Duration of Examination : 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (3 hours)
  • Sale of Application Form : 23.01.2006 to 06.03.2006
  • Last Date for receipt of completed Application Form : 6 th March, 2006 Registration details on website : By 5 th May, 2006
  • Results of JEE 2006 on website : Second week of June
  • Centralized Counselling at New Delhi as per schedule : 27 th June, 2006 onwards
  • Commencement of Academic Session : 24 th July, 2006

  National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The Council centrally regulates academics for hospitality and hotel administration and other eleven structured courses of studies that are imparted at the existing 24 Institutes of Hotel Management and 7 Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country. All Institutes uniformly follow standardized course curricula prescribed by the Council for the twelve different professional programmes.

Quality of education and training provided by the Institutes helps student to emerge as professionally qualified personnel for hospitality and other allied service sectors. The Council has till date trained more than 30,000 Hospitality Managers, Executives and other operational personnel. Its alumni occupy key positions in hospitality industry and in academic institutions in India and abroad.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the examination of 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2006 for being considered on provisional basis. Provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted to the concerned Institute by July 24 th, 2006 . Admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/ documents to be produced by the candidates at the time of admission in Institute. Even after admission to an Institute, if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of having submitted false information or testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited. Decision of National Council regarding the eligibility shall be final.

List of approved qualifying examinations for Indian Students

 
Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern
of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/
State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education,
New Delhi and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination,
New Delhi .

  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination ( London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka ) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University .
  • Any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of India Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education.
  • H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects
  • Age Limit For candidates from General and Physically Handicapped categories, only those whose date of birth falls on or after July 01,1984 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years. For these two categories (SC & ST) candidates, born on or after July 01, 1981 will be eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ Pre-University Certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of counseling, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for provisional admission.

Duly completed Application Form, along with Acknowledgement Card, should be sent to "JEE CELL" National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, 4th Floor, Library Avenue, Pusa Complex, New Delhi-110012" in the pre-addressed envelope. Do not staple or paste the Acknowledgement Card with the Application Form. Ensure that the Application Form is not folded. Close the envelope with tape and send it through any postal mode/ in person to reach JEE CELL on or before 6 th March, 2006 . Applications received after 6 th March, 2006 will not be entertained.
