National Institute of Immunology Ph.D Programme in Biological and Allied Sciences for 2006
National Institute of Immunology (NIl) invites applications for its Ph.D. Programme in biology and related sciences. Cutting-edge research at the Institute encompasses a wide spectrum of diversity including chemical, biochemical, molecular biological, microbiological, immunological, physiological, biophysical, computational and structural biological approaches, and falls under four broad areas:
1)Immunity and Infection. 2) Reproduction and Development. 3) Molecular Design. 4) Gene Regulation.
Minimum qualifications
A. M.Sc. in any branch of Science or M.Tech or M.B.B.S. or M.V.Sc. Or M.Pharm. Or equivalent qualification recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, is required.
B. First Division, or equivalent grade, or at least 60% of aggregate scores in all major
examinations from Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) onwards is required.
C. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination this year may also apply,
candidature being provisional pending satisfactory fulfillment of the requirements above.
D.Reservations are as perstatutory norms
Selection procedure
A. Candidates fulfilling minimum requirements will be invited for a written qualifying test on May 31, 2006 at New Delhi, at their own expense. The written test is aimed at evaluating abilities to comprehend, analyse and reason.
B. Candidates short-listed from the results of the written test will be in yited for interviews over June 01-03,2006.
C. Candidates selected after the interview will be enrolled for the Ph.D. programme of Nil in academic affiliation with JNU, New Delhi.
Ph.D. Programme
A. The programme will start on July 03,2006,
B. The Institute provides a fellowship stipend of Rs. 8,000/9,500/- per month depending on the degree qualifications.
C. Shared hostel accommodation will be available on request.
D.The selection of Guide for thesis work will only be made after successful completion of course work, with course work merit determining the project choices available.
Application procedure
A. Applications should be TYPED on A4-size plain paper in the format given below. B. Items 3 and 6 in the format should be typed as shown in the Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
C. Each page of the typed application form should be SIGNED by the candidate.
D. Completed applications MUST BE accompanied with a crossed DEMAND DRAFT for Rs. , 300/- of six months validity in favour of ‘Director, National Institute of Immunology, payable at New Delhi. A Demand Draft for Rs.100/- is acceptable from SC/ST candidates, provided relevant documentary proof is enclosed. The drafts are not refundable.
E. Applications should be accompanied by attested copies of certificates and mark
sheets mentioning the division obtained.
F. TWO recent passport size PHOTOGRAPHS should be enclosed. One of these should be signed by the candidate and pasted on the application form.
G. Two self-addressed stamped (Rs. 5/-) envelopes of 10 cm x 22 cm should also be enclosed.

I. Incomplete applications in any respect will be summarily rejected & no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Applications received after the closing date will not be entertained on any ground including postal delays. TERI School of Advanced Studies invites application for Master and phd programmes
The TERI School of Advanced Studies invites applications for its following programmes:
MBA(Infrastructure), MSc(Environmental Studies) and MSc (Natural Resources Management); and PhD programmes. The minimum eligiblilty for the MBA course is Bachelor’s degree with mathematics as a subject till class XII. Shortlisted candidates will be called for group discussion/inverview. Non-sponsored candidates must have a valid CAT score. The MSc courses require a Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering or Economics/Statistics/Mathematics/Geography and the admission would be on the basis of a written test.
The PhD courses are available at the Faculty of Applied Science(Bioresources and Biotechnology, Energy and Environment, Natural Resources) and Faculty of Policy and Planning (Regulatory and policy Research). The eligibility for PhD courses is a Master’s degree in relevant field or BE/BTech.
